Eston Denson
was born in New Site, Mississippi on April 28, 1915 the son of the late Thomas C. and Josie Bell Johnson Denson.
Mr. Denson was an Army-Air Force veteran serving in World War II. He had worked as a farmer, B & B Construction Company, and for the Hardin County Board of Education as a custodian at the Hardin County High School, before retiring. In addition to New Site, Mississippi he had also lived in New Hope and Savannah, Tennessee. He loved his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the Yankees. He enjoyed whittling and visiting with anyone who would like to talk. He was a great Father and Daddy to all.
Mr. Denson departed this life on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the age of 93 years, 11 months, 14 days.
Mr. Denson is survived by a son, Tommy Denson and wife Sherry of Dyer, Tennessee; 2 daughters, Kim Denson of Savannah, Tennessee, Peggy Jacobs and Ricky of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren, Mickey, Jason , and Christopher Smith, Kristi Russo, Kelli Mealer, Brandon (B.J.) Hudson, and Curt Smith; 3 great-grandchildren, Jamison Mealer, Emma and Ethan Russo; 4 step-great-grandchildren; a special daughter-in-law, Nancy Smith of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Denson was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie S. Rowsey Denson on October 5, 2001; a son Robert Gillock Smith; a brother, T. Alvin Denson; 3 sisters, Edna Wagoner, Mary Phillips, and Vertis Denson; a grandchild, Michael Smith.
