A service to celebrate the life of Esther Lee Rainey Raines, age 87, will be held on Tuesday, July 20th, 10:00 A.M. in the chapel at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, TN with Rev. Zolon Clayton conducting the service. Burial will follow in Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia on Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. Mrs. Raines was born on August 16, 1922 in Columbus, Georgia and died on July 17, 2010 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She retired as the Treasurer of Carmike Cinemas in 1986. Following the death of her first husband, Frank J. Rainey, she moved to Stantonville, TN to care for a sister, Bea McKenzie, now deceased. While there she met and married Roy W. Raines. They were married for eighteen years. She was a faithful member of the Stantonville United Methodist Church.Mrs. Raines truly enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was especially fond and proud of her four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Roy Raines of Stantonville, a daughter Rebecca R. Haselgrove and husband, Leighton of Granbury, TX, a son, Frank E. Rainey and wife, Betty of Gulf Breeze, FL. She had four grandchildren, Dee Wilson of Portland, OR, Kim Cullens of Eatonton, GA, Leighton Haselgrove, Jr. of Chandler, AZ, and Beth Odom of Fortson, GA. She is also survived by sister, Tina Cobb of Dallas, TX and brother, Ed McCullough of Elk Grove, CA.
