Essie Lee Jeter departed this life on Friday, August 26, 2016, at the age of 94 years, 2 months, 5 days. She was born in Clifton, Tennessee on June 21, 1922, the daughter of the late Edgar "Babe" and Clatie Wheat Lineberry.
Essie Lee spent most of her life in Clifton, Tennessee, but lived had lived in Mississippi for a short period a couple times. She had worked for Clifton Manufacturing Company for many years, Hardin Medical Center in the cafeteria, and then retired from Ingram Material after many years of service. Essie Lee loved her grandkids, great-grandkids, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed square dancing and cooking. She was a member of Riverside Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Edgar Neal Jeter of Clifton, Tennessee, Syble Yvonne Roach of Counce, Tennessee, Carolyn Gayle Williams and Alice Mae Whitlow both of Savannah, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ledeana Allen and Marie Goddard.
