Ernest Owen Young

ERNEST OWEN YOUNG



was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 3, 1936 the son of the late James Hubert and Lydia Jewel Morton Young.



On October 26, 1957 he was united in marriage to Blonnie Nell Jones, who preceded her husband in death on December 27, 2012.



Mr. Young worked for 30 years as a grounds man for TVEC. He was a veteran of the National Guard . Mr. Young was a member of Graham United Methodist Church where he served as an elder, song leader, Sunday School teacher, chairman of the church board and church secretary. He also founded a church in India through Sunrise Ministries. Mr. Young enjoyed golfing and fishing. He also enjoyed doing electrical work, carpentry, farming, gardening, keeping bees and selling honey and helping people with minor home repairs. Mr. Young donated every month to Billy Graham and Pathways.



He departed this life on December 29, 2012 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 26 days.



Mr. Young is survived by his children, Sheila Young Mills of Paris, Tennessee, Sherry Young Stricklin, Connie Young Hurt and Donnie Darryl Young, all of Savannah, Tennessee



11 grandchildren, Kerry Ryan Mills, Amy Rose Hasselbrink, Amanda Nell Stanfill, Justin Owen Stricklin, Micah Blake Hurt, Christina Carol Hurt, Elizabeth Ann Hurt, William Daniel Hurt, Jason Darryl Young, Jessica Dawn Cook and Jordan Ray Young



one step grandchild, Christina Pisanello



7 great grandchildren, Maclain Andrew Hasselbrink, Alaina Rose Hasselbrink, Kendall Rianna Mills, Addisson Nell Stanfill, Owen Dale Stanfill, Trevor Frazier and Katherine Belle Cook



one brother, Ancil Young of Savannah, Tennessee and one sister, Nila Franks of Columbia, Tennessee



In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Young was also preceded in death by one sister, Seleta McCall and one brother, Aaron young
