Ernest West

Ernest Harold West was born on November 12, 1934 on Middle Butler Creek, South Wayne County the son of the late Joseph S. and Mattie Frances Martin West. He was united in marriage to Pauline Stults Henson on January 6, 1953 and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2014. Mr. West retired working in assembly repair at Murray Ohio in Lawrenceburg, TN and attended Scott's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Cypress Inn, TN. Mr. West departed this life on July 8, 2022 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 26 days.

He is survived by sons, Ronald Eugene Henson and wife Kathy of Lawrenceburg, TN, Ernie Steve West and Susan, Darrell Dewayne West and wife Inkie, and David Shane West wife Dalene, all of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Linda Kelley of Collinwood, TN, Donna Edwards and husband Ricky of Summertown, TN, and Darlene Reed and husband Billy of Collinwood, TN; eighteen grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and special friends, Charles Skillern and wife Frances and Carl Harper and wife Judy.

In addition to his wife Mr. West was preceded in death by granddaughter, Chasity Jones, grandson, Elijah Jack Edwards, daughter-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" West, and great-grandson, Ashtin Grimes.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with John E. Banks and Tim Hanback officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Ashtin Grimes Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Wayne County Bank.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Skillern and Carl Harper
