Ernest Henry of Adamsville, Tennessee, was born on July 11, 1932, the son of the late Ira B. and Helen Griffin Henry. He was united in marriage to Betty Sue Lipford Henry who preceded him in death on December 17, 2007. Mr. Henry was a Pentecostal and a U. S. Army Korean Veteran. He served a total of 36 years in law enforcement with the Adamsville Police Department, the McNairy County Sheriff's Department, the Hardin County Sheriff's Department, and as a Constable in McNairy County. He was a member of the F.O.P. and Sheriff's Association. He worked part time for Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville for several years.
Mr. Henry departed this life on Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital at the age of 76 Years, 2 Months, and 17 Days.
Survivors are four daughters, Janice Johnson of Scotts Hill, Tennessee, Vickie Wilburn, Kim Forsythe, and Teresa McGarity, all of Adamsville, Tennessee; three sons, Larry Henry of Scotts Hill, Keith Henry of Savannah, Tennessee, and Dewayne Henry of Adamsville; three sisters, Ima Jo Plunk and Inetha Scott, both of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, and Jo Ann Hicks of Conway, Arkansas.
11 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren
Other than his wife and parents, Mr. Henry was also preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Robertson, and a brother, Jerry Henry.
