Ernest Frank Farkas
Was born in Ohio on April 24, 1916 the son of the late Frank and Agatha Farkas.
During his life, Mr. Farkas was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard and was widely traveled. He lived in Highland, Indiana for 23 years and spent the last five years of his life in Counce, Tennessee. Mr. Farkas was a retired pet shop owner and a member of the Hobart Elks Lodge. While in Highland, Indiana he attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He also attended Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
He departed this life on April 4, 2006 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 11 days.
Mr. Farkas is survived by a son, Brian Ernest Farkas and his wife, Sherry, of Crown Points, Indiana;
4 daughters: Patricia Marie Fitzsimmons and her husband, Bob, of Allegan Michigan
Karen Ann Howell of Bend, Oregon
Carol Diane Farkas of Ocean View, Hawaii
and Kim Marie Farkas of Highland, Indiana;
7 grandchildren: Renee Schilling, Michelle Fitzsimmons, Eric Howell, Melissa Kuchta,
Justin Farkas, Luke Farkas and Faith Farkas;
6 great-grandchildren: Lauren Schilling, Megan Schilling, Ted Schilling, Rhett Barker,
Vince Barker and Banyon Howell;
and his fiancé, Margaret Mary Meyers of Whiting, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Farkas and a sister, Florence Sabo.
