Ernest Earl Bevis departed this life on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at his residence in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 7 Months, 28 Days. He was born September 25, 1940 in Lutts, TN, the son of the late Dalton and Robbie Petty Bevis.
Mr. Bevis was a retired car salesman and former owner of Pop's BBQ and had worked early years at Murray Ohio Manufacturing.
He was united in marriage to Gainell Rich on September 19, 1973.
He is survived by his wife, Gainell Rich Bevis; daughters, Stacey Remona Bevis Keeton and husband, Larry ,and Cherry Annette Bevis Robinson and husband, Johnny; sons, Richie Earl Bevis and wife, Crystal all of Waynesboro, TN, and Ernest Earl Bevis, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Linden, TN; grandchildren, Jessica Groves, Kodie Groves, Maranda Keeton, Hanna Bevis, Belle Robinson, and John Eley Robinson; two great-grandchildren, Lexy Groves and Lainey Bradley; brothers, Willie Bevis of Warden, Ill, Robert Bevis of Collinwood, TN, Bobby Bevis of Clifton, TN, and Rex Bevis of Waynesboro, TN; step-mother; Nell Bevis of Waynesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Whitney Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Jason Brewer, Derrick Bevis, Chris Bevis, Michael Statom, Mark Statom, and Greg Martin.
