Ephraim C. Nichols was born November 23, 1917 in Adamsville, Tennessee the son of the late John Calvin and Dessie Laverta Sharp Nichols.
He was united in marriage to Mildred Ruth Meek on August 31, 1946.
Mr. Nichols was a Receiving Clerk for Harwood Manufacturing . He was a member of the Adamsville First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. Mr. Nichols was a United States Army veteran having served honorably in World War II. He was the first from McNairy County deployed to serve in World War II. He served in Italy, Africa, France, and England. Mr. Nichols was also a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Nichols departed this life on February 6, 2008 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 2 Months, 14 Days. He is survived by his wife Mildred Ruth (Meek) Nichols of Adamsville, TN; a daughter, Pamela Ruth Baugus of Adamsville, TN; a son, Joe Travis Nichols of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Monica Jo Young and husband Richard, and Emily Ruth Gray and husband Brandon; two great grandchildren, Taylor A. Young and Lindy A. Young.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by four sisters, Mable Majors, Audrey Surratt, Josie Emily Nicholsand Maggie Ruth Browder; three brothers, Robert L. Nichols, Rayford W. Nichols and Duron Nichols.
