Services for Emma Nola Matney, age 87, Waynesboro, TN will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Waynesboro with Ray Watkins and David Turley officiating. Interment following in Highland Cemtery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.Pallbearers are Mike Self, Mike Gower, Derek Stracener, Bill Walls, Logan Self, Steven Stracener, Justin Butler, Charlie Hampton, Billy Walls, Peyton Stracener, Ethan Walls.Mrs. Matney was born March 30, 1923 in Lawrence County, the daughter of the late Clarence and Leah Prince Crews. She was united in marriage to Marcus Hughes Matney on June 4, 1938 and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2000. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Faye, and a son, Dale Matney, brothers, Carl Crews and Calvin Crews; two sisters, Lillie Mae Hollis and Dean Kelly. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She departed this life on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at her home.She is survived by a daughter, Melba Joyce Self and husband Floyd of Waynbesboro, TN; daughter-in-law Elaine Matney of Lawrenceburg, TN;seven grandchildren, Charlotte Horton, Teresa Gower and husband Mike, Mike Self and wife, Michelle, Regina Stracener and husband Derek, Kim Walls and husband Bill, Carrie Foster and husband Mike, and Kelli Matney;19 great grandchildren, Darrin, Cayla, April, Korie, Kalli, Logan, Sissy, Steven, Peyton, Nolan, Billy, Ethan, Makayla, Jennifer, Tommy, Morgan, Maty, Max, and Cohen; great-great grandchildren, Presleigh, Braxton, Abbie, J.R., and Hayden.
