Emily Siler, 66 of Bolivar, died Friday, September 1, 2006 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Born June 29, 1940 to James Blunt Harriss and Carmie Mae Little Harriss, she lived most her life in Toone. Widowed by her husband John Siler, December 10, 1973, she worked as a bank teller for First Federal Savings and Loan for about 10 years, and was a member of the Toone Baptist church where she worked as church secretary for 20 years.
Services were 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Shackelford's Bolivar Chapel with Tommy Smith officiating. Burial was in New Union Cemetery near Medon.
Survivors include her son, Harriss Siler of Memphis and three sisters, Annie Mae Pierce of Memphis, Thelma Harriss of Bolivar, and Rose Vernon of Olive Branch, Miss. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, James B. Harriss, Jr., and Robert Harriss.
