Emily Faye Jones of Morris Chapel, Tennessee, died at the Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama February 12, 2016, at the age of 78.
Emily was born April 25, 1937 in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Paul Vernon and Lena Mae Langston. She graduated from Saint Thomas Academy in Memphis Tennessee in 1955. On Nov 21, 1956, she was united in marriage to Buddy F. Jones in Memphis, Tennessee. Emily is survived by her sons Paul and his wife Carolyn, Gary and his wife Patty, Michael and his wife Donna, her daughters Sandra, Mollie, Valerie and her life partner Cheryl, four grandchildren Amy, Melissa, Michael and Jaime, and fourteen great-grandchildren Mateo, Dylan, Evan, Josie, Jack, Haiden, Waylon, Payson, Westin, Kenneth, Christian, Shelby, Kendalyn and Mason. She is also survived by her three sisters Caroline, Laura and Jenny.
A lifelong member of the Catholic Church she was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
Following the death of her husband in 2004, Emily devoted the remainder of her life in the service of housing and caring for dozens of foster children. With loving experience after raising her 5 children, she answered her calling to provide a safe, comfortable and loving home to children who needed a strong sense of family and a foundation on which to grow and prosper. She leaves a legacy of love, hope and Christian values on everyone that her life touched.
