Emerson Galloway, 89, of Bolivar, died Monday, February 14,2005
at The Forum in Houston, Texas.
The widow of Mary Frances Galloway, who died May 5, 2000, he
retired from Texaco, Inc. in 1980. Mr. Galloway was born July 22,
1915 in Bolivar, and attended Rhodes College and the University of
Tennessee. He went to work for Texaco, Inc. immediately following
his graduation from Louisiana State University. During WWII, Mr. Galloway left for service in India and resumed his career at Texaco upon his return. He lived a long and full life as an active man who loved fishing, gardening and socializing with family and friends. Mr. Galloway was a member of Pioneer Oil Producers and was very involved in the life of his community in Panorama Villiage, Texas until his move to The Forum.
Memorial services were 11 AM Saturday, March 5, 2005 at
Shackelford's Bolivar Chapel with David Cooper officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery near Bolivar.
He was a gracious gentleman who will be missed by all those whose
lives he touched including his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn
Pace and Kelvin Smejkal; his son and daughter-in-law, John and
Blanche Galloway and his five grandsons, Stephen Galloway,
Daniel and his wife, Margaret Galloway, Jonathan Pace, Trey
Joseph, Rob and his wife, Leslie Joseph.
