Elsie Melton

She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Charles Walter and Willie Luna Dunn Smith. She was educated in Chester County schools and in 1936 was married to J. W. “Toad” Melton. They made their home in Chester County all their lives where Mr. Melton farmed and retired from Quality Manufacturing. Mrs. Melton was employed by Salant and Salant from 1940 until 1971 and then she worked as a sales clerk at City Drug Store, retiring in 1986. Mr. Melton preceded her in death in 1993.



Mrs. Melton was a member of the Eastern Star, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Henderson Church of Christ.
