Ellis E. Phillips, 84, of Columbus, Indiana, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at his home.
The widower of Ruby Powell Phillips, who died June 27, 2000 after 50 years of marriage, he was a dteel worker with Inland Steel. Mr. Phillips was born September 18, 1922 in Whiteville, son of the late Charles and Velma Wright Phillips. He served in the U. S. Army in the 103rd Division during WWII and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Dr. Gregory E. and Stephanie Phillips of Columbus; one sister, Geneva Angle of Memphis; one brother, Charles Phillips of Pekin, Ill. and two grandchildren, Evan and Samuel Phillips of Columbus. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hal and Floyd Phillips.
