Ella Catherine Raines, age 87 of Bolivar, departed this life Tuesday evening, February 28, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mrs. Raines was born in Early Branch, South Carolina November 24, 1924 to the late Henry D. Smith and Catherine Robinson Smith. She was a homemaker and lived in the Bolivar area since the 1940s. In 1943 she married Jack Hillman Raines who preceded her in death in 1989. A former member at Enon Baptist Church, she also attended Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and cooking.
She leaves as her survivors a daughter, Katherine Elain Martin of Hernando, MS; a son, Jack Hillman Raines, Jr. of Hernando, MS; a sister, Annette Smith of Early Branch, SC; a sister, Douglas Smith of Early Branch, SC; three grandchildren, Vickie Gill, Jason Raines and Douglas Smith; and numerous great-grandchildren.
