Elizabeth Bryant Pierce, 89, of Bolivar, died Monday evening, May 29, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital.



The widow of Palmer Pierce, who died June 26, 2000 after 53 years of marriage, she was a secretary at the Hardeman County Health Department and a homemaker. Mrs. Pierce was born May 5, 1917 in Hickory Valley, daughter of the late William Milton Bryant and Alice Gertrude Patrick Bryant and lived here all of her life. She was the Sunday School department secretary for Bolivar First Baptist Church and she loved to sew and work with flowers and in her garden.



Graveside services were 1 pm Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Bolivar Memorial Cemetery with David Cooper officiating.



She leaves one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Alan Jowers; one granddaughter, Allison Jowers and one nephew and his wife, Max and Barbara Grant, all of Bolivar. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bonita Winkler and three brothers, Johnny, Wilburn and Edward Bryant.
