Elizabeth McCasland

Elizabeth Darlene McCasland

was born in Fairfield, Illinois on August 28, 1940 the daughter of the late Elmo Copeland and Iva Tombs.

On June 3, 1956 she was united in marriage to Billy Morgan McCasland, who preceded his wife in death on April 12, 2009.

Elizabeth was a homemaker and had previously worked for Continental Can Company, Walmart, Magic Mart, and was a self employed caterer. She also had been a first responder for Hardin County District 4.  Elizabeth was a member of Mt. View Church of Christ and was a devoted Christian.  She was a great cook, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother, granny, and great grandmother.

Elizabeth departed this life on Friday, May 3, 2024 at her daughter's residence in Tishomingo, Mississippi at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 5 days. 

She is survived by her children, Jerry McCasland of Iuka, Mississippi, Terry Hacker and her husband Jimmy of Clifton, Tennessee, Jeanette Wilson of Tishomingo, Mississippi, Larry McCasland and his wife Martha of Savannah, Tennessee, and Rhonda Bishop and her husband Steve of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Angie Wilson and her husband David, Kevin Durbin and his wife Tracy, Nicky Durbin and his wife Amber, Bradley Bishop and his wife Stefanie, Casey McCasland and Cynthia Farris, Colton McCasland, Keisha Blankenship and her husband Josh, and Billy Bishop and his wife Kayla; great grandchildren, Taylor Durbin, Jada Durbin, Carson Durbin, Madison Durbin, Rylan Durbin, Alana Walls and her husband Seth, Nicky Wilson, Destinie Bishop, Ella Bishop, Maggie Bishop, Molly Blankenship, Montana Blankenship, Trinity Bulter, and Carlie Hughes; sister, Barbara Burke of Rockford, Illinois; brother, Ron Friend of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; and sister-in-law, Pat Friend of Florence, Alabama.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Lawrence Alan Wilson; three sisters, Ann Engelkes, Carolyn McDuffee, and Venida Kaye Stricklin; brother, Donnie Friend; brother-in-law, Marvin McCasland; sister-in-law, Lorraine McCasland; mother-in-law, Etta McCasland; and father-in-law, Earl McCasland.
