Elizabeth "Liz" Hodge, passed away Sunday morning at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar.
A native of the Hornsby area, she was a homemaker. She was born May 18, 1947 to Vernon Eugene Jernigan and Nellie Goodrum and her mother passed away 3 days after she was born. She was then lovingly raised by her grandmother, Rilla Goodrum. She lived a while in McNairy County and in Memphis for a short time, working some there. She married Jessie Allen Hodge on December 2, 1978, moving back to this area. She loved to shop and listen to and watch Elvis Presley, but she especially enjoyed being around her family, whom she dearly loved. Mrs. Hodge was a member of Hatchie Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Lisa and John Hill of Bolivar; a son, Tyler Hodge of Hornsby; two sisters, Jean Hodge of Hornsby and Martha England of Murfreesboro; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her grandmother and a sister, Dorothy Grantham.
