Elizabeth Ann Bishop Campbell

August 20, 1930 — January 9, 2024

Bells, TN (formerly of Whiteville)

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Bishop Campbell, age 93, passed from this life on Tuesday night, January 9, 2024, at Bells Nursing Home.

She was born on Wednesday, August 20, 1930, daughter of the late Leo and Bertha Haase Bishop, living most of her life around the Whiteville area, and in Bells since 2000.  She was a 1948 graduate of Whiteville High School and married Odell Campbell on  September 4, 1948, just recently celebrating their 75th anniversary.  She worked as a supervisor at Master Slack Corp for 16 years, retiring in 1993, and  previously worked at HIS in Whiteville.  Mrs. Campbell enjoyed being a homemaker most of all, working alongside her husband in their garden that they grew for 72 of their 75 year marriage, and doting and loving on her children and grandchildren.  Keeping the house up and ironing was not a chore to her, as she loved doing those things to help her family.  She embodied the Bible's words with having a servant's heart and was a good Christian woman, spouse and mother.  Canning food for her family was a passion of hers, and she also enjoyed bluegrass music.  She was known to do what she could with what she had, where she was, and most importantly, with love in her heart.  Mrs. Campbell was a member of Poplar Heights Baptist Church in Jackson; First Baptist in Whiteville, where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher, and Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Odell Campbell of Bells; a daughter, Ginger Young (Jeff) of  Bells; a son, Roger Dell Campbell (Linda) of Buena Vista, CO; three sisters, Louise Murphy (Carol) of Martin, Carolyn Payton (Billy) of Byhalia, MS and Linda Vawter of Milan; three brothers, Joe Bishop (Patricia) of Bruceton, David Bishop (Kathy) and Bert Bishop (Cindy), all of Bolivar; two sister in laws, Ann Bishop of Moore, OK and Ruth Bishop of Whiteville; four grandchildren, Matthew Campbell and Mary Beth Edwards, both of Buena Vista, CO , Katherine Elizabeth Young of Savannah, GA and Kelly Marie Myers (Caleb) of Jackson; four great grandchildren, Tripp Fitzpatrick, Draco Edwards, Lillian Young and  Davis Fitzpatrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Bill and Jupie Bishop.  Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate).
