Edwin (Eddie) Duke was born August 31, 1945 in Alcorn County, Mississippi the son of the late Leroy and Vera Lillian Cleary Duke.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Rickman on May 11, 2010.
Mr. Duke was employed by Smith Home Center in Corinth, Mississippi for approximately 14 1/2 years. He was also a harbor boat pilot for the former Murphy Marine Service in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Duke had served his country in the United States Marines, and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Michie, Tennessee. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and doing farm work.
Mr. Duke departed this life on October 23, 2010 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 65 Years, 1 Month, 23 Days. He is survived by his wife Shirley (Rickman) Duke of Michie, TN; four daughters: Beverly Smith, Tammy Barnard, Candy Coln and husband Gary, and Leslie Wood and husband Eddy, all of Corinth, MS; two sons, Stephen Lambert of Selmer, TN and Edwin A. Duke of Michie, TN; nine grandchildren: Matt Thorne, Nick Duke, K. C. Coffman, Anthony Lambert, Brent Lambert, Alex Duke, Logan Coln, Kayley Brooke Wood, and Bryce Wood; a brother, Jimmy Duke and wife Betty of Michie, TN; two sisters, Annette Duke of Sardis, TN and Linda Duke of Indianapolis, IN; brothers-in law Doug Lambert and wife Kat, Alvie Moore and wife Patricia, and Butch Dicks; sister-in-law Glenda Reaves; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Duke was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris LaRue and Jennette Gilliland; and two brothers, Earl and James Edward Duke.
