Mr. Howell passed away Wednesday morning at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Carolyn Howell, who survives, he was a 'motor man' for Brooks Auto for thirty years and also worked for the City of Bolivar for 15 years prior to retiring. He was born to William Eddie Howell and Margaret Lois Pipkin Howell, both of whom precdeded him in death and lived all of his life here. Mr. Howell was well known for his love of decorating his yard for Christmas and enjoyed many cars passing by his house to observe his handywork. He was a member of New Bethany church of Christ since 1954 and helped build the church building.
In addition to his wife, whom he married on April 14, 1956, survivors include a daughter and her husband, Teresa and Rickey Tigner of Middleton; a son and his wife, Donnie and Teresa Howell of Bolivar; a sister, Joy Faye Mills of Bolivar; his mother in law, Louise Doyle of Bolivar; five grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Kim Tigner; Brandon Tigner and his fiancee', Tiffany Johns; Courtney, Katy and Kayla Howell; and one great granddaughter, Tayler Tigner and several nieces and nephews.
