Mr. Fulghum went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, Feb. 21 at his home.
The son of Marcus and Myra Jacobs Fulghum, both of whom preceded him in death, he was retired from Bolivar Electric Department where he had worked for 37 years. He was a graduate of Bolivar Central High School where he was captain of their first football team and was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Medical Corps during World War II. He was an active lifetime member of Bolivar First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Simpson Fulghum; two daughters, Betty Etheridge and Carol Moss; two sons, Jere and Robert Fulghum; two stepdaughters, Judi Bishop and Lynn Askew; two stepsons, Bobby and Steve Simpson; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Myra (Teasie) Hazelgrove and Betty Blasingame; two brothers, Joe and Jerry Fulghum; and his loyal and beloved dog, Maggie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marthilde Fulghum; a sister, Ann Warr and brothers, Robert, Marcus (Snooks) and Neely (infant).
