She was born in Blytheville, AR the daughter of the late James Edward and Sallie May Shepard Turner. She worked at Cafes in Blytheville and at Piccadilly Cafeteria after moving to Memphis. She later was certified as a sitter, taking care of people in their homes, hospitals and nursing homes. She retired in 1983 and made her home with her son Gary the past four years. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Memphis.
She is survived by three sons; L.C. Turner of Chandler, TX, James Edward Turner of El Reno, OK and Gary Lynn Turner of Memphis; two daughters, Mary Patterson of Finger and Donna Mozer of Memphis; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Madge Shelton of AR.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles “Buster†Turner in 1998 and also a great grandchild.
