She retired as a Phlebotomist from Baptist Central Hospital. A member of the Temple United Methodist Church. She was active in the choir and various other church organizations. She was a member of the (DAR) Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, and an avid Genealogist.
Survivors include her husband John T. Lockhart, Sr. and two sons Max (Cheryl) Lane of Memphis and Johnny (Kim) Lane of Millington; six grandchildren, Joshua, Hope, Adam, Ben, Mandy Lane, and Justin Bryant; three step sons John T. Lockhart, Jr.
(Bridget) of Chicago, IL, Jim Lockhart of Nashville, TN and Jeff Lockhart of Union City, TN; a daughter in law, Linda Lockhart of Birmingham, AL; nine step grandchildren and fourteen step-great-grandchildren; four sisters Joy Boyd of Jacksonville, AR, Margaret (AL) Stinnett and Doris Ann Kiestler of Memphis and Lucy Boles of Henderson, TN; two brothers Thomas Smith of Seattle, WA and Charles (Nancy) Smith of Clarksville, TN; mother-in-law Maggie Lane, two sister-in-laws Diane Hysmith and Jan Busby all of Henderson; three step-brothers and three step-sisters and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her husband Clyde Lane, her parents Kent and Edna Wright Smith, her brother Kent Smith, Jr. and her stepmother Robbie Smith preceded her in death.
