Edna J. Hudson, 73, of Whiteville, died Thursday evening, November 2, 2006 at her home.
The wife of Glynn Hudson, who survives, she worked for 17 years at St. Francis Hospital as supervisor of central dispatch and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hudson was born March 9, 1933 in Hazard, Kentucky, daughter of the late John and Melva Jones and lived in Memphis for 50 years before making her home in Whiteville in 2003. She was a member of Fisherville Baptist Church, enjoyed going on missions to Honduras and Mexico and loved gardening, flowers and sewing.
In addition to her husband, whom she married May 2, 1952, survivors include two daughters, Sheila Williams and her husband, Darrel and Rita Planty, all of Oakland; two sisters, Loretta Deaton of Ohio and Ernie Mae Dunn of Georgia and six grandchildren, Shane, Megan and Rebecca Williams and Nora, Lorin and Lindsey Planty.
