EDNA L. HINTON



was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on September 18, 1917 the daughter of the late Marion and Nancy Elizabeth Cowan Austin.



On August 12, 1945 she was united in marriage to Floyd Virgil Hinton, who preceded his wife in death on September 14, 1988.



Mrs. Hinton was a homemaker. She was a member of Ford's Mill Freewill Baptist Church.



Mrs. Hinton departed this life on October 1, 2008 at El Reposo Nursing Home in Florence, Alabama at the age of 91 years and 13 days.



She is survived by one son, Billy Floyd Hinton and his wife Shirley of Cypress Inn, Tennessee and 3 daughters, Evelyn Reatherford and her husband Jerry, Glenda Kelley and Diane Rumph, all of Florence, Alabama.



6 grandchildren, Christy Mooney and her husband Jon, Brad Hinton, Amanda Haddock, Waylon Rumph, Brian Kelley and his wife Angela and Darrell Kelley and his wife Selisa.



3 step-grandchildren, Michael Reatherford, Donna Hanback and her husband Sammy and Doug Robbins and his wife Theresa



6 great-grandchildren, Blake Marona, Trevor Kelley, Trenton Kelley, Emily Haddock, Allison Haddock and Justin Kelley



10 step-great-grandchildren, Cody Cothrum, Tori Hanback, Sam Hanback, Misty Kay Robbins, Cody Robbins, Jordan Mooney, Tyler Mooney, Alex Purser, Aaron Purser and Austin Purser



one sister, Elsie White of Florence, Alabama and 2 brothers, Ledford Austin of Berton Harbor, Michigan and Rayford Austin of Killen, Alabama.



Mrs. Hinton was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Ernie Gene Hinton and Jackie Hinton, one sister, Thelma Austin and one brother, Cecil Austin.
