EDNA COVINGTON
Was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on August 15, 1914 the daughter of the late W. G. and Evelyn Newman Covington.
Ms. Covington was a retired Lt. Colonel for the United States Army Reserve Nurse Corps. after 40 years. She was a registered nurse for the Veterans Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Ms. Covington was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She was a life member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Ms. Covington departed this life on January 4, 2007 at Savannah Healthcare in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 20 days.
She is survived by one sister, Virginia C. Austin of Savannah, Tennessee.
Other than her parents, Ms. Covington was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Yost and 4 brothers, Allen, Mancel, William and George Covington.
