Was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on July 27, 1943 the daughter of the late Noah Velt and Charity Janie Brown Melson.
On August 24, 1974 she was united in marriage to Nathaniel Vandiver, who preceded his wife in death on December 31, 1998.
Mrs. Vandiver worked for Pickwick Worm Gardens.
She departed this life on January 16, 2007 at the Hardin County Nursing Home in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 20 days.
Mrs. Vandiver is survived by one sister, Wanda Wilkerson of Savannah, Tennessee.
2 brothers, Robert Coy Melson of Savannah, Tennessee and James Roy Melson of Adamsville, Tennessee.

Mrs. Vandiver was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mearl Melson and Pearl Melson, one brother, Kenneth Melson and one niece, Cynthia Jane Wilkerson.
