Edith Louise Henson Hazelwood., 75, of Whiteville, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Erin Care and Rehabilitation in Erin, Tenn.
The widow of James Davis Hazelwood, who died December 29, 2001, she was a custodial worker at Western Mental Health Institute. Mrs. Hazelwood was born September 5, 1930 in Whiteville, daughter of the late Prentiss Obion Henson and Nancy Hall Henson and lived there most of her life. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church near Whiteville.
Services were 1 PM Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Bertie Moore and Paul Moody officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery with Jeff and John T. Young, Bo and Tyler Hazelwood, Brad Hindman, Matthew Tomlin and James Young serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were Lori Young, Erin Piefer, Nicole King, Mica Breeden, Brittney King, Jansen Breeden , Chloe Davis and Lauren Deming.
Survivors include four daughters and their husbands, Linda and Kenneth Young of Humboldt, Randi and Johnny Breeden of Bolivar, Peggy and Kevin Tomlin of Jackson and Bonnie and Larry Hindman of Erin, Tenn.; one son and his wife, Richard and Cindy Hazelwood of Bolivar; two brothers, J. P. and Orlin Henson, both of Whiteville; 12 grandchildren, Jeff Young, Lori Davis, John Young, Brad Hindman, Erin Piefer, Bo and Tyler Hazelwood, Mica and Jansen Breeden, Nicole King, Brittney King and Matthew Tomlin and 10 great grandchildren, Chloe and Cassie Davis, Dawson Hindman, Madelyn Piefer, Dylan Rowe Young, and Amanda, Michael, Maria, Katherine and Miles Young.
