Edith Gillis

Edith Berry Gillis of Lawrenceburg was born July 17, 1926 in Wayne County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Paulk and Mattie Vickery Berry. In addition to her parents, Mrs Gillis was preceded in death by a son, James Allen Gillis. Mrs. Gillis departed this life Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 10 Months, 9 Days. She was retired from Collinwood Manufacturing and a member of Free Church of God.She is survived by her husband of 66 years Coy H. Gillis of Lawrenceburg; a daughter, Linda Thompson of Lawrenceburg and a son, J. P. Gillis of Savannah; 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Shackelford Chapel in Collinwood with J.P. Gillis and Greg Thompson officiating. Interment following in Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.
