EDDIE PLUNKETT, JR.

Jackson, TN: James Edward Plunkett, Jr. age 74, passed away March 29, 2025, at his home.

He was born August 8, 1950, in Nashville, TN, the son of Frances Mae Lamar Plunkett and the late James Edward Plunkett, Sr. He grew up in Henderson and was a 1968 graduate of Chester County High School.

He joined the U.S. Airforce and spent twenty years in service retiring in Sept. 1988 as Tech Sergeant and was a jet engine mechanic and Vietnam war veteran.

He married Christine Faye Lott on September 17, 1990, and they made their home in Jackson for the past twenty-five years.

He enjoyed buying and shooting guns, drinking coffee and spending time with Faye and his dog “Minnie Pooh”.

He was Pentecostal in belief.

Mr. Plunkett is survived by his wife, Christine Faye Lott Plunkett of Jackson, a daughter, Dana Michelle Borders (Timothy) of Bolivar, TN; three grandchildren, Timothy David Borders, Jr., Tyler Lee Borders and Allyson Michelle Borders and three great grandchildren, Carter Reed Borders, Carsen Lane Borders and Harper Mai Borders, his mother, Frances Mae Lamar Plunkett of Henderson, a brother, Steve Plunkett (Christiene) of Lexington, a sister, Sarah Plunkett of Henderson and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Danny Edward Plunkett, on June 27, 2019.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Pastor Michael Rickenbaker officiating. Burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 10:30 AM until 2:00 PM service time Thursday.
