Mr. Jeter passed away Saturday, July 26 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widower of Joan Jeter, who died Feb. 24, 2004, he was a Sgt. with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, retiring after 33 years of service. He was born to Warner Hobert Jeter and Willie Verlin Sells Jeter, both of whom preceded him in death and lived most of his life here. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police, the VFW and the American Association of State Troopers. Mr. Jeter was a member of Bolivar Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Fawcett of Jackson; a son, Michael W. Jeter of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, JoAnn Wintker of Murfreesboro; a brother, Bruce Warner Jeter of Lexington; four grandchildren, Daniel Wayne Jeter, Mechael Denise Ackman, Dorian Patrick Fawcett and Rachael Marie Fawcett; and three great grandchildren, Joseph Michael Jeter, Mia Ann Ackman and Tyler Jordan Fawcett.
