Earnest D. Shelby

Earnest D. Shelby was born November 26, 1946 in Decaturville, Tennessee the son of the late Noble Earnest and Carrie Kennedy Shelby.He was united in marriage to Linda Fay Sweat on January 14, 1968.Mr. Shelby was a retired tool and dye maker for General Electric. He was a member of the House of Mercy in Morris Chapel, Tennessee. He served honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam.Mr. Shelby departed this life on March 29, 2008 of a massive heart attack in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 61 Years, 4 Months, 3 Days. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Faye (Sweat) Shelby of Selmer, TN; a son, Jesse Dwight Shelby and wife Lisa of Adamsville, TN; two very special grandchildren, Kristan Shelby, and Kaden Shelby; a brother, David Shelby and wife Tina of Selmer, TN; his second dad and mom, Leonard and Faye Sweat of Bethel Springs, TN; two sister-in-laws, Kathy Sweat of Washington State and Cookie Krescmar and husband Skip of Ohio; a brother-in-law, Terry Sweat and wife Phyllis of Alabama; 4 nieces, 5 nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews; special sons, Stevie, Steve, Wade, Kirk and Lawrence; special daughters, Amy and Teresa.In addition to his parents, Mr. Shelby was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Jerry T. Sweat.
