Earl Goodman was born in Clifton, TN to the late William Sam and Linda Virginia Hill Goodman. He died Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 2 Months, 18 Days.
Mr. Goodman, a lifelong resident of the Beech Creek community, was a farmer, mechanic, auto dealer, and school bus driver and was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Mr. Goodman married Louise Walker Goodman on May 25, 1940 and she preceded him in death April 25, 2009.
He is survived by a son, Robert Goodman and wife, Diane of Clifton, TN, a daughter, Patricia Ann Goodman Skelton and husband, Ricky of Waynesboro, TN; four grandchildren, Chris Goodman, Tammy Goodman Clark, Shannon Skelton, and Brandon Skelton; seven great-grandchildren, Mickey, Danny, and Joe Goodman and Hayden Clark, Carley, Cooper, and Naomi Skelton; and one great-great-grandchild, Britlee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, and parents, Mr. Goodman was preceded in death by a daughter, Earlene Goodman; a great-granddaughter, Sherri Goodman; two brothers, Andy and Kenny Goodman; four sisters, Dovie Holt, Carrie Turnbo, Lillie Coats, and Olive Holt.
Services will be Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Billy Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Prater's Chapel Cemetery, Clifton, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Chuck, Anthony, Mickey, Danny, and Chris Goodman and Chris Holt. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve and Hayden Clark, Edsel Turnbo, and David Holt.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 5 to 9 pm and Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
