He was born in Anderson County, Clifton, TN the son of the late Earl Plumley and Ruby Slover Clough. He attended schools in Anderson County. He was employed by Civil Service in Washington, DC and in 1942 he became associated with Elevator Maintenance and later was in the Elevator Construction Business with Westinghouse, Otis, and Horner Elevator Company’s. He returned to Memphis in 1976. He later worked for Guardsmark and retired in 1985. He moved to Erin, TN and to Henderson, TN in 1995. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Henderson.
He is survived by a son, Michael Earl Clough and his wife Judy of Collierville, TN; a daughter, Diane Eulene Manns of Walls, MS; a grandson, Brian Manns and a brother, C.R. Clough, Sr. of Oak Ridge, TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Eulene Weaver Clough in 2002.
