Dwight Edward Bishop, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, was born on September 16, 1941 in Enville, TN. He was the son of the late Robert Lester and Ivene Tenry Bishop.

Dwight was a man of faith who found solace in reading the Bible. He had a deep love for knowledge and was always eager to engage in meaningful conversations. His warm personality made him an excellent conversationalist and he had a special talent for making people feel heard.

One of Dwight's passions in life was food. He approached his pantry with meticulous care and attention to detail. Known for his culinary skills, he made the best pizzas.

In his leisure time, Dwight took great delight in indulging in John Wayne movies, immersing himself in the thrilling tales crafted by Louis L'Amour, and pursuing his hobbies of hunting and fishing.

However, above all else, Dwight's family brought him the greatest joy. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart and spending time with them filled him with immense happiness.

Mr. Bishop passed away on October 13, 2023 at the age of 82 years and 27 days in Knoxville, Tennessee. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Decker Bishop of Knoxville, TN; children: Beth Dutton of Collierville, TN; Sherrye Harrell of Morton, MS; Vickie Boyd and her husband Mike of Munford, TN; Michael Bishop of Olive Branch, MS; Kim Wheeler and her husband Wes of McMinnville, TN; Ken Kirby of Middleton ,TN; Katie Stone and her husband Josh of Knoxville, TN; and Kristy Sheppard of Knoxville, TN.

In addition, Dwight is survived by 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy throughout his life; two sisters: Joyce Somers and her husband Charlie of West Lafayette, IN; and Janice Bishop and her partner Roger Hutchins of Murfreesboro, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.

Alongside his parents, He was preceded in death by his sons-in-law: Allen Dutton and John Harrell, as well as his daughter-in-law Shannon Bishop.
