TONY CARTER

Beech Bluff, TN: Douglas Anthony Carter, age 36, passed away March 15, 2025, at his home.

He was born March 29, 1988, the son of Bishop D.E. Carter and Michelle Galloway Carter. He graduated from Jacks Creek Apostolic School in 2005. He then attended Jackson State Community College.

He worked in construction for several years and worked as a framer in reconstruction for ten years.

He began ministering as a Pastor in 2015 and was currently serving as Pastor of By The Masters Hand in Jacks Creek.

He married Christy Buckler on June 28, 2009, and they made their home in Beech Bluff.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking, playing drums, motorcycling, building things and raising livestock.

He loved his family and especially raising his boys. He also enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephews.

Tony is survived by his wife, Christy Jane Buckler Carter of Beech Bluff; four sons, Jacob Carter of Savannah, Malachi Carter, Elijah Carter and Titus Carter; his parents, Bishop D.E. Carter and Michelle Lynne Galloway Carter of Jacks Creek; a sister, Teppie Ivy (John) of Medon, TN and a niece Scarlett Ivy and nephews, Carter Ivy, Stephan Ivy and Kayden Ivy.

He had a lot of friends and family but he was especially close to Granna, his grandmothers and Uncle Chris.

Funeral services will be 5:00 PM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bishop D.E. Carter and Michelle Carter officiating.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday and 4PM until 5 PM service time on Friday.
