Douglas Caperton

DOUGLAS CAPERTON



Was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on March 6, 1934 the son of the late Lonnie Elmer and Lantie Katherine Rinks Caperton.



On May 30, 1953 he was united in marriage to Josephine Morgan, who survives.



Mr. Caperton was a ferry operator for the Hardin County Highway Department. He attended Russell Chapel Church. Mr. Caperton loved gardening and going to the Amish country. He enjoyed working with his horse, Samson.



Mr. Caperton departed this life on June 3, 2009 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 28 days.



Other than his wife, Josephine of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by one son, Gerald Caperton and Teresa Irons of Savannah, Tennessee and 2 daughters, Becky Matlock and Danny and Lesia Caperton and Jack, all of Savannah, Tennessee.



6 grandchildren, Holly, Chris, Autumn, Richard, Robert and Shawn



3 great-grandchildren



one brother, Wesley Caperton of Savannah, Tennessee and 3 sisters, Pat Prince, Shelby Higgins and Barbara Easley, all of Savannah, Tennessee.



Other than his parents, Mr. Caperton was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, William Robert Caperton and Elmer Caperton, Jr. and 4 sisters, Hautie Fielder, Louise Blount, Lena Blount and Inez Caperton
