Doug Towne was born on May 5, 1942 in Colchester, Vermont, the son of the late Robert and Thelma Wilder Towne.
On November 28, 1986, he was united in marriage to Linda DeForge Towne, who survives.
Doug worked in filtration at IBM and retired after 30 years of service. He lived in Essex Junction, Vermont and Colchester, Vermont for 63 years before moving to Tennessee.
Doug Towne departed this life on November 20, 2022 in Bath Springs, Tennessee at the age of 80 years, 6 months, and 15 days.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Towne; daughters, Jennifer Allard and her husband Kevin and Meredith Towne; stepdaughter, Lori Martin; brother, Robert Towne; and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Madison, Parker, Haley, CJ, and Lauren.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his stepson, Jamie Martin.
Doug passed away due to Systemic Scleroderma. His family requests memorial donations be made to the Scleroderma Foundation at www.scleroderma.org or by calling 978-463-5843.
