Dorris A. Parker, 88, of Whiteville, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah.
He was an accountant and electrical engineer and most recently an auditor for the Sate of Colorado. Mr. Parker was born July 3, 1917 in Haywood County, son of the late Roscoe Owen Parker and Nannie Velma Pirtle Parker. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Captain during WWII and lived in Texas and Wyoming before making his home in Whiteville.
Services were 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with burial in Parker Family Cemetery near Whiteville.
Survivors include one sister, Margie Schloesser of Adamsville and two nieces, Peggy Lynn Leathers of Crump and Sheryl Jane Wilkes of Dallas, Tex. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Curtis Randall Wilkes.
