Dorothy Young

Dorothy Young departed this life on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at the age of 93 years. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on January 21, 1928, the daughter of the late William Grady and Rosa Earl Godwin Reynolds. In 1952, she was united in marriage to Ruben Earl Young, who preceded her in death on May 22, 1990.

Dorothy was a caretaker and had worked at Brown Shoe Factory. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Dorothy loved to cook, plant gardens, and sew, especially blankets and clothes.

Dorothy Young is survived by her son, Marty Earl Young; granddaughter, Candace Treece; great grandchildren, Creed Stevenson and Alexagail Cook; and sister, Rachel Reynolds Young.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Arlene Gail Young Treece; brothers, William Roy Reynolds, JR Reynolds, and Hubert Paul Reynolds; and sisters, JoAnn Reynolds Sutton and Mabel Reynolds Rich.
