Mrs. Thornton passed away October 3 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.
The widow of William H. Thornton, who died in 1990, she was a homemaker. She was born in Memphis to S. P. Ward Ledbetter and Wardie King Ledbetter and lived in Falkner since 1948. She loved her animals and flowers and was a member of the Church of Christ, worshipping with the Marlow congregation.
Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews and friends; a sister, Ruth Akins of Ashland, Miss.; a sister in law, Neva Shappley of Ripley, Miss.; and a brother in law, Vince Jaras of Memphis.
