DOROTHY RICKMAN SMITH
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on March 31, 1927 the daughter of the late Fred D. and Pearl Wood Rickman
On March 12, 1957 she was united in marriage to Hughie Smith, who survives.
Mrs. Smith was a Registered Nurse for the VA Hospital where she was head of surgery for 35 years. She served her country in the United States Army where she was a cadet nurse. Mrs. Smith was a member of Counce First Baptist Church and a member of the Gideons International. She loved to cook and serve others, she loved playing cards and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Smith departed this life on January 8, 2013 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 8 days.
In addition to her husband Hughie of Shiloh, Tennessee, she is survived by one son, Rick Sullivan and his wife Freda of Oakland, Tennessee
three grandchildren, Eric Sullivan, Nathan Sullivan and Jonathan Sullivan
six great grandchildren, Drew, Langston, Taylor, Matthew, Tyler and Callie
two brothers, Arnold Rickman of Tuscumbia, Alabama and Fred "Buster" Rickman of Shiloh, Tennessee and two sisters, Ludine Carlisle of Germantown, Tennessee and Maxine Grisham of Memphis, Tennessee
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by two sisters, Onah Ruth Dixon and Mildred Kimbrough and one brother, C. G. Rickman
