Dorothy V. Gooch Smith

Dorothy V. Gooch Smith departed this life on August 2, 2013, in Jackson, TN, at the age of 90 years, 7 months, 10 days. She was born November 28, 1922, in McNairy County Tennessee, the daughter of Virgil Gillian and Pauline Holmes Gooch.
She was united in marriage to Edgar Zeb Smith on September 12, 1942, in Alcorn County, Mississippi. Mr. Smith preceded her in death on October 11, 1993.
She was retired from Wurlitzer after 28 years of service and then worked 14 years in the Archives Room at the Courthouse.
Ms. Smith was a member of Ramer Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a son, Edgar David Smith (wife Brenda) of Selmer, TN, one granddaughter, Bridgett DeLynn Smith Andrews (husband Chip) of Jackson, TN, two great grandchildren, Peyton and Brittany Andrews.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Ms. Smith was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Edna Dancer, Lora Pearl Gardner, Lucy May Sims, 3 brothers: Elmer, Eber and Vadis Gooch.
