Dorothy Elizabeth Shelton

Dorothy Elizabeth Jones Shelton was born April 26, 1931 in Elbridge, TN, the daughter of the late Burt Solomon Jones and Pearlie Aslee Stockton Jones.

She was united in marriage to Manuel Ralph Shelton on July 9, 1949. Mr. Shelton preceded her in death on July 20, 1997.

Dorothy was a faithful member of the Pine Hill Christian Assembly Church in Finger, Tennessee when she was able to go. She was a homemaker and monarch of her family. Dorothy loved her family very very much and was the glue that held them all together. She enjoyed gardening and being with family.

Mrs. Shelton departed this life on October 25, 2020 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 5 Months, 29 Days.

She is survived by two daughters, Laura Bloechl of Finger, TN, Jennifer Plunk of Selmer, TN; a son, Joseph (Joey) Shelton of Savannah, TN; daughter-in-law, Tarecia Shelton of Henderson, TN; four sisters; Dora Coon and husband Jim of Madisonville, KY, Melba Shanklin of Tiptonville, TN, Pearl Randall and husband Roy of Lafollette, TN, Brenda Staggs and husband Elmer of Tiptonville, TN; eight grandchildren: Laura Fredrick and husband Scott, Crystal Guy, Cassie Hostetler, Wendy Shelton and husband Matthew, Sarah Doyle and husband Lance, Kathy Booker and husband Brooks, Tollie Shelton, Naomi Shelton; 27 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by two sons, Gene and Norman Shelton; and a brother, Harry Jones.
