Dorothy Faye Shelbywas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 17, 1917 the daughter of the late Author Brown Love and Lillie Harville Love Delozier.On March 17, 1935 she was united in marriage to Columbus Brownlow Shelby, who preceded her in death on June 29, 1987. She worked at the Savannah Button Factory, Savannah Manufacturing and as a school cook. Mrs. Shelby was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ.She departed this life on May 1, 2007 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 14 days.Mrs. Shelby is survived by two sons: Jimmy H. Shelby, Sr. of Morris Chapel, Tennessee and Charles "Dixie" Shelby of Savannah, Tennessee; three daughters: Judy A. Griggs of Waynesboro, Tennessee and Nancy Godwin and Beverly Dickerson, both of Savannah, Tennessee;20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren;and one sister, Odessa Love Janeczko of Savannah, Tennessee.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons: Jerry "Dean" Shelby, Herman Roger Shelby and Donnie Eugene Shelby; five grandchildren: Cindy McCasland, Tammy Shelby, Kimberley Shelby, Melody Shelby and Kevin Griggs; one brother, Brownie Love;and four sisters: Cordia Conner, Roxie Shelton, Hazel Turnbow and Exie Jean Gibbs.
