Dorothy Nuckolls

Dorothy Dobbs Nuckolls, 92, of Bolivar, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Memphis Jewish Home.
The widow of William Knox Nuckolls, who died on April of 1966, she was a bookkeeper with the State of Tennessee for 20 years. Mrs. Nuckolls was born August 11, 1914 in Knoxville, daughter of the late George Walter Dobbs and Susie Girdler Dobbs and lived there for 50 years before moving to Nashville. She lived in Nashville for 10 years, moved to Bolivar and then to Oklahoma before returning to Bolivar in 2004. She previously owned Nuckolls Hardware and Variety Store.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Ellen Shrum of Lebanon and Julia Bratcher of Somerville; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son, Malcolm D. Nuckolls.
