She was born and reared in Chester County, the Big Springs Community near Chickasaw the daughter of the late Jerome and Virgie Louise Cooper Glidewell. She worked on the farm with her parents as a young lady and in 1952 she was married to Marshall Byrum. She worked in the garment industry at Hardeman Garment in Bolivar until it closed and later at Grisham Stave Mill. She was married to Henry Lee Nance in 1980 and they made their home at Bemis and Pinson.
She is survived by her husband Henry Lee Nance of Pinson; a son Jasper Byrum of Medon; two daughters, Elizabeth Page of Jackson and Virgie Byrum of Pinson; three grandchildren, Michael Ray Collins, Sammy Collins, Jr. and Belinda Byrum and two great grandchildren, Shane Michael Collins and Aston Tate Collins; two brothers, J.T. Glidewell and Jerome Glidewell both of Memphis; and also three sisters, Josie Wilbanks of Memphis, Betty Beauton of California and Wilma McCrackin of Jackson.
