Dorothy Morgan was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 20, 1923 the daughter of the late William Harvey and Retta Lee Fowler Smith.On August 4, 1940, she was united in marriage to James Cecil Morgan, who preceded him in death on October 4, 1982.Ms. Morgan enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, and fishing. She was a very caring and loving mother and grandmother. Ms. Morgan was a member of East End United Methodist Church.Ms. Morgan departed this life at her home on Tuesday, June 9, 2008 at the age of 84 years, 10 months, 20 days.Ms. Morgan is survived by two daughters: Glenda Murry of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Janis Majors of Savannah, Tennessee; three sons: Ronnie Morgan, Ray Morgan and his wife Barbara, Rudy Morgan and his wife Debra all of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister: Thelma Hale of Savannah, Tennessee; two brothers: Junior Smith of Savannah, Tennessee, Gene Smith of Jackson, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: James "Bauldy" Smith; a daughter-in-law: Lynda Morgan.
